The Stranahan House was built in 1901, with the lower level acting as a trading post and the upper level as a community hall. By 1906, the house grew to include a general store and a bank. Eventually, Stranahan converted the house into a residence. Today, the house serves as a time capsule into what life was like in the early days of Fort Lauderdale.
